The acting president of Nauru, Kieren Keke, has announced that Friday, September 17, 1999, had been declared a non-working public holiday in Nauru of in memory of the late Lagumot Harris, the former President of the Republic of Nauru.

According to the announcement contained in the Nauru Government Gazette No.58 (G.N.No. 216/1999), the aforementioned declaration of Friday, September 17, 1999, in memory of the late Lagumot Harris, the former President of the Republic of Nauru, was signed by the acting president of Nauru, Remy Namaduk, and thus amends the previously-released list of 1999 non-working public holidays in Nauru (1999-01-20).
