Liberia Declares September 11 Public Holiday

Liberian President, Charles Taylor, has declared Wednesday, September 11, 2002, as a one-off non-working national public holiday.

In his announcement, President Taylor stresses that "the day will be observed as a day of national remembrance for the tragic events that hit Washington and New York".
