The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has released its official list of non-working public holidays to be observed in Hong Kong for the upcoming calendar year 2006.
As per the aforementioned announcement, days in lieu are re-stipulated "As the first day of January and National Day in 2006 both fall on a Sunday, the days following will be designated as the additional general holidays" and "In addition, the day preceding Lunar New Year's day will be designated as an additional general holiday as the Lunar New Year's Day in 2006 falls on a Sunday", as was the case on past occasions (2004-04-02, 2003-04-04, 2002-04-12, 2001-04-20, 2000-05-05 and 1999-05-07).
