Bangladesh Celebrates Restored November 7 Public Holiday

The government and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will observe National Revolution and Solidarity Day today. The government has declared the day a public holiday to mark the civil-military joint revolt that freed then army chief Major General Ziaur Rahman from captivity in Dhaka Cantonment.

Some other organizations, including Awami Swechchasebok League, Muktijoddha Oikya Parishad and Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee will observe it as freedom fighter Sepoys' killing day.
