Local government and education officials in Metro Cebu have decided to cancel the 4-day holiday on Dec. 11-14 and ordered the resumption of work in government offices and of classes in all levels.

Classes in public and private schools will resume Monday even if Malacañang has not lifted the four-day holiday for government sectors and schools in Cebu, Mandaue and Lapulapu cities.

Most of the universities and colleges have also announced the resumption of classes on Monday, except for the University of the Philippines-Cebu and the Cebu Normal University. Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña has also instructed all employees of the Cebu city government to return to work Monday.
