The government of the Australian State of South Australia has officially gazetted the change in the date of the 2007 Adelaide Cup Day and related public holiday.

As per the "Holidays (Adelaide Cup) Proclamation 2006" (published in the Gazette on 31 August 2006 at page 3062), Monday, March 12, 2007, is declared to be a public holiday and bank holiday instead of Monday, May 21, 2007.

This follows last month's statement to that effect by South Australia's Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing (2006-07-12), and the request by the South Australian Jockey Club, following the Adelaide Cup having been rained out for the second year in a row (2004-05-21).
