Malawi's public holidays legislation has been amended, with immediate effect, removing December 26 (Boxing Day) as an official non-working public holiday in Malawi.
Apparently the aforementioned change to Malawi's public holidays legislation was made at the behest of Malawi president Bingu wa Mutharika who considers that Malawi has too many annual non-working public holidays.
