An emergency session of the legislative assembly has been called to vote the law re-establishing días puente (moving mid-week fixed-date public holidays to the following Monday).
It is hoped that the vote on this bill, whose idea was first floated last summer (2007-08-25 and 2007-09-17), would occur in time to move the effective date of the upcoming Independence Day public holiday, from Wednesday November 28, to Monday, December 3.
