Serigne Saliou Mbacke, the fifth caliph of the Mouride Muslim brotherhood, as well as the religious adviser to Senegalese President, Abdoulaye Wade, died on Friday, and a 3-day national mourning period was declared from Friday, December 28, to Sunday, December 30, inclusively.
This national mourning period will not be a public holiday.
