Bangladesh Changes Ashura Public Holiday Date

The government of Bangladesh has declared January 20 as a public holiday on the occasion of the upcoming Ashura Muslim festival.

The date originally included in the government list of official annual public holidays for the calendar year 2008, as had been approved by Bangladesh's cabinet last month (2007-12-17), was January 19.
