The governor of the Brazilian State of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, has issued Decree No. 70.925 of October 2, published on October 5, 2026, moving the state civil service ponto facultativo from Wednesday, October 28, to Friday, October 30. October 28 will consequently be a normal working day in the state offices concerned.
The government of the Brazilian State of Mato Grosso do Sul has similarly transferred its civil service closure to October 30 through a decree published on October 6, 2026. Abkhazia 2027 Public Holidays Announced

The approved transfers are January 2 to January 13; January 3 to October 1; May 1 to May 3; May 2 to May 4; May 9 to May 10; May 23 to May 24; and August 28 to August 30, 2027.
The Ministry of Social Welfare and Demographic Policy has also been instructed to submit a proposal establishing the date of Kurban-nykhua at least ten calendar days before the celebration.

This would establish a maximum of thirteen non-working holidays under the proposed system.
The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia has opposed the proposal, describing it as a reduction in workers’ rights.

As per the aforementioned document, "Considering the proposals of the Ministry of Interior in Report No. 10033/TTr-BNV dated September 11, 2026 and Report No. 10137/TTr-BNV dated September 14, 2026 regarding the holiday schedule for Vietnamese Culture Day in 2026, Lunar New Year (Year of the Goat) in 2027, and National Day in 2027, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra agrees with the Ministry of Interior's proposal on the holiday schedules: 7 days for Lunar New Year, 4 days for National Day in 2027, and 1 day for Vietnamese Culture Day in 2026.".
Specifically, the Lunar New Year holiday in 2027 will be from Thursday, February 4th, 2027 (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Horse) to Wednesday, February 10th, 2027 (the 5th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Goat), and the National Day holiday in 2027 will consist of 4 consecutive days from Thursday, September 2nd, 2027 to Sunday, September 5th, 2027 (including 2 days of the official National Day holiday and 2 regular weekend days).

The Government of Gibraltar has gazetted the Bank And Public Holidays Order 2026 (LN.2026/349), which specifies the official list of Gibraltar bank holidays and public holidays for the upcoming calendar year 2027 ("In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 2(3) of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act and by section 58 of the Interpretation and General Clauses Act, and of all other enabling powers, the Government has made the following Order").
As per the aforementioned order, "This Order may be cited as the Bank and Public Holidays Order 2026" and "It is hereby declared that holidays set out in the Schedule shall be Bank and Public Holidays in the year 2027".
Of note, the date announced for the 2027 May Day public holiday is announced as Monday, May 3rd, 2027, a date that may yet be changed by the Chief Minister.

The legislation, which is to take effect upon promulgation, creates a commemorative observance without adding a non-working public holiday.

Honduras Extends Morazan Public Holidays

The State Secretariat for the Offices of Governance, Justice and Decentralization of Honduras has issued a communiqué announcing that the public sector would get Monaday and Tuesday, October 5 and 6, 2026, as public holidays, thus extending the public sector Morazan Week holidays to the entire week.
As per the aforementioned announcement, signed by Sulmy Ortéz Maldonado, Honduras' Secretary of State by Law, "By virtue of the aforementioned legislative decree, said holiday will be granted to the employees of the Public Administration as a whole, the week from Monday 05 to Friday 09 October 2026, making the clarification that the days 05 and 06 of October, are charged as vacation days.".
