Turkmenistan's President, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, signed a decree declaring Thursday, October 2, 2008, as the non-working day off public holiday for the upcoming Oraza Bayramy (End of Ramadan).
As was the case last year (2007-10-12), Turkmenistan has declared its Oraza Bayramy (End of Ramadan) public holiday one day later than originally announced, and than most of its neighbors.
Oraza Bayramy (or the End of Ramadan) has been a non-working day off public holiday in Turkmenistan ever since the Decree No 2432 "On Id al-Fitr holiday" dated 14 January 1998 (1998-01-12).
