Uganda Announces Early Eid al-Adha Public Holiday Date

Uganda's President, Yoweri Museveni, confirmed that tomorrow, Sunday, December 7, 2008, would be the date of the observance of the Idd Adhuha (Feast of Sacrifice) public holiday in Uganda.

As was the case last September for the Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holiday, the date announced is a day earlier than most other Muslim countries, except Libya which is consistently announces the earliest dates for each the 2 Eid public holidays.
