Indonesia's largest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), has announced that the Islamic Day of Sacrifice, or Idul Adha, would be celebrated on November 27, 2009.
This corresponds to the official Idul Adha non-working public holiday date announced by the government of Indonesia, earlier this year (2009-08-09).
Early reports indicate that this will also be the date announced by Muhammadiyah, the second largest Muslim organization in Indonesia, thus avoiding the fracas of a few years ago, when the 2 main Indonesian Muslim organizations declared different dates for the End of Ramadan Muslim Festival (2007-10-12).
