Malaysia Confirms October 26 Negeri Sembilan Public Holiday

The government of Malaysia's State of Negeri Sembilan has confirmed that Monday, October 26, 2009, as a public holiday for the whole of the State of Negeri Sembilan.

This date corresponds to that of the installation of Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir as the 11th Yang di-Pertuan Besar of the state. Last spring (23-Apr-2009), Monday, October 26, 2009, had been announced as the transitional date for the State public holiday, as the former ruler's birthday had been moved to January 14, the birthday of the new ruler, Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, but only starting in 2010 (14-Jan-2009).
