Afghan president, Hamid Karzai, announced that, effective immediately, Thursdays would join Fridays as the new official 2-day weekend.

The aforementioned change will apply to Kabul, the capital's five million residents for the remainder of the winter, and is to be compensated, starting in the spring, by working longer daily hours.
