A spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers, Akif Ali, has announced that the Cabinet of Ministers had passed a resolution declaring non-working public holidays on November 9, 16 and 17, 2010.

The non-working public holidays on November 16 and 17, 2010, correspond to the annual Gurban Bayrami (Festival of Sacrifice) public holidays. In 2006, the duration of the Gurban Bayrami public holiday was increased from 1 to 2 days (08-Dec-2006).

The non-working public holiday on November 9, 2010, corresponds to the recently voted new annual Flag Day public holiday (05-Dec-2009).

Although the aforementioned announcement does not mention it, there is a possibility that Monday, November 8, 2010, might be declared a one-off bridge public holiday, in which case, Saturday, November 6, 2010, would likely be declared a regular working day. Similarly, Monday, November 15, 2010, could also be declared a one-off bridge public holiday, in which case, Saturday, November 13, 2010, would likely be declared a regular working day.
