Bolivia's Minister of Labour, Carmen Trujillo, has denied rumours that Monday, May 3, 2010, would be an official public holiday to compensate the fact that May 1st falls on a Saturday this year.

The rumours had been fueled by the recollections that, in 2004, under similar circumstances, the Government of Bolivia issued Decreto Supremo 27468 making Monday, May 3, 2004, a one-off public holiday (2004-04-29).

The minister did remind all present that 2 new public holidays were declared in less than a year; the Indigenous New Year public holiday (2009-06-18) and the "Día de la Fundación del Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia" public holiday (2010-01-20).
