Jersey's Chief Minister, Terry Le Sueur, has agreed to lodge a new Public Holidays and Bank Holidays Act to replace the 1952 Act; and to create an additional public holiday in 2012 to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Late last year (2009-12-27), the UK Parliament approved a bill creating an additional one-off public holiday to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, in 2012.

The Isle of Man has also declared an additional one-off public holiday to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (2010-09-10), but that additional day off, will take place in July 2012 rather than in June 2012.
