Yesterday, a writ petition was filed in Nepal's Supreme Court demanding that a public holiday be declared on the last day of the Nepali month of Chaitra for Bisket Jatra.
Note that, as Bisket Jatra is begins on the last day of the Nepali year, lasts a few days, and is only celebrated in Bhaktapur and a few other districts, it is usually observed as a public holiday on the day of the Nepali New Year (as will be the case in 2010).
