The Omani authorities have announced the dates for the upcoming Eid al-Adha public holidays, for the private sector and for the public sector, respectively.
In one communique, the Omani Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Civil Service Council, Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud bin Ali al Busaidi, issued a decision stating that the Eid Al Adha holidays for employees at the ministries, public authorities and other departments of the state administrative apparatus, would be from Monday, November 15, 2010, with work resuming on Saturday, November 20, 2010.
Contrary to what was done in the past (2010-09-06 and 2009-09-17) the private sector will benefit from the same Eid holidays as the public sector, and in a separate communique, the Omani Manpower Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, announced a ministerial decision that the Eid holidays for the private sector would also be from Monday, November 15, 2010, with work resuming on Saturday, November 20, 2010.
In a separate announcement, the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced that Omani Banks will remain closed from November 15 to 18 and would reopen for business on Sunday, November 21, 2010.
