Philippines Considering June 30 Public Holiday

Philippines' Executive Secretary, Leandro Mendoza, has recommended to President Arroyo that she declare a one-off public holiday on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, on the occasion of the inauguration of President-elect Benigno Aquino III.

When President Arroyo took her oath, in 2004, a special public holiday was declared in Cebu province on the day of her formal assumption of office.
