Jay Marzan, the City Administrator of Manila, the capital of the Philippines, has announced that, earlier today, the Manila government had declared Thursday, June 24, 2010, Araw ng Maynila, a non-working public holiday in the city.

Technically, this municipal public holiday is not annual, and needs to be proclaimed every year, but in the past this has become a formality (see, for example, 2009-06-21 and 2008-06-16).
