Puerto Rico's Governor, Luis G. Fortuño Burset, has declared Monday, August 30, 2010, as a one-off half-day non-working public sector holiday, beginning at 12:00, on account of the impending tropical storm Earl.
The aforementioned announcement is contained in the Memorando Especial Núm. 21-2010 announced to the media by the Oficina de Capacitación y Asesoramiento en Asuntos Laborales y de Administración de Recursos Humanos (OCALARH).
It states that non-essential government workers are to be off work on the afternoon of Monday, August 30, 2010 (El Gobernador de Puerto Rico, Hon. Luis G. Fortuño Burset, ha autorizado el cese de labores de los empleados públicos a partir de las 12:00 del mediodía de hoy, lunes, 30 de agosto de 2010).
A similar, half-day, public holiday was declared last year (2009-09-03) at the time of tropical storm Erika.
