Despite some last-ditch efforts by the Angolan opposition, the recently-voted public holidays legislation (Lei dos Feriados Nacionais e Locais e Datas de Celebração Nacional) has finally been made official.
One of the consequences of the delay in officializing the aforementioned legislation (2010-12-16), is that the January 4 public holiday, destined to become a regular working day under the terms of the Lei dos Feriados Nacionais e Locais e Datas de Celebração Nacional, will have been in effect for one more year, in 2011.
