British Virgin Islands Declare Royal Wedding Public Holiday

The Governor of the British Virgin Islands, after consultation with the Cabinet, and in accordance with Section 5(a) of the Public Holidays Act, has approved a one-off public holiday on Friday, April 29, 2011, to coincide with the upcoming UK royal wedding.

Currently, the UK (2010-11-23), Scotland (2010-11-24), the Cayman Islands (2011-02-01), the Isle of Man (2011-01-10), Gibraltar (2011-01-06), Guernsey and Alderney (2011-01-26), Jersey (2011-01-20), the Falkland Islands (2011-02-02), and the Turks and Caicos (2011-02-27), have officially announced that Friday, April 29, 2011, would also be a one-off public holiday.
