Egypt Declares Additional Christmas Bank Holiday

Egyptian authorities have announced that Sunday, January 9, 2011, would be an additional bank holiday in Egypt, due to Coptic Christmas Day falling on a weekend.

As such, on that date, all Egyptian financial institutions will be closed, including banks and the stock exchange.
