The Government of Kazakhstan has announced that it had declared the 4 days from Friday, December 16, to Monday, December 19, 2011, inclusively, as official non-working public holidays on account of the upcoming National Day holidays.

The aforementioned announcement is in line with last January's (2011-01-14) published the list of "Holidays and weekends in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2011", and follows from the 2001 amended version of Kazakhstan's Labour Code and the Law on Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan (2001-12-14) which states that "the days of the national and state holidays are non-working days" and that "in case of coincidence of a day off and a holiday, a day off will be the next day following the holiday".
