Madagascar's Conseil de Gouvernement has ruled-out the widely expected declaration of Monday, March 28, 2011, as a bridge public holiday.

Although the recently released (2011-01-15) official list of 2011 Madagascar public holidays, based upon the recommendation of Madagascar's "Ministère de la Fonction publique, du Travail et des Lois sociales", and the recent Communiqué de Presse (2011-03-23), did not include a bridge public holiday on Monday, March 28, 2011, it had been expected to be declared so at the last minute to bridge the one day gap between the coming weekend and the annual, March 29, public holiday, as had been done in past years (2009-01-13, 2008-01-16 and 2007-01-09).
