The Malta Bankers' Association has announced that Monday, April 25, 2011, had been declared a bank holiday, and that, as such, all the banks in Malta would be closed for business on that day.

Although Malta does not have any specific bank holidays in its annual list of public holidays (2011-01-05 and 2010-01-07), the Malta Bankers Association does on occasion declare one-off bank holidays (2009-12-23, 2009-04-10, and 2008-12-19).
