The Cabinet of the Government of Mauritius has released its approved list of the official public holidays in Mauritius for the upcoming calendar year 2012.
The communiqué did not include any new public holidays, as it did a decade ago (2001-07-26), but it did confirm the always elusive dates for Thaipoosam Cavadee, Maha Shivaratree, Ougadi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Eid-Ul-Fitr, and Divali.
The date announced for the Eid-Ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) does however seem early to us and we expect that it will be moved to the next day between now and August 2012.
