The Mexican Minister of Labour (Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social), Renato Sandoval Franco, has announced that Friday, September 16, 2011, would be a non-working public holiday (día de descanso obligatorio).
In the aforementioned communique, Minister Sandoval Franco refers to Article 74 of Mexico's labour law (Ley Federal del Trabajo) as amended a few years ago (2006-01-17).
Contrary to what happened last year (2010-09-11), no additional non-working public holidays were declared this year for the upcoming Independence Day public holiday.
