Nicaragua's Minister of Labour, Jeannette Chávez, has issued a communique declaring that Monday, May 2nd, 2011, would be a full-day public holiday in compensation of the fact that the annual May 1st public holiday falls on a Sunday in 2011.

The aforementioned announcement refers to "Artículo 66 del Código del Trabajo" although the said article only mandates a compensatory day, on a case-by-case basis, rather than this nationwide public holiday.
