The July 23 official public holiday for employees of ministries, public bodies and other units of the administrative system was announced by Khalid Bin Hilal Bin Saud Al Busaidi, the Omani Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Chairman of the Board Civil Service.

In a separate announcement, the Omani Minister of Manpower, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Abdullah Al Bakri, announced Saturday, July 23, 2011, as a public holiday for the private sector.

Contrary to what was done for recent public holidays (2011-06-26 and 2011-02-13), the upcoming Renaissance Day public holiday was not moved from its set date.
