Philippines Extend Prophet's Birthday Holiday

The Philippines have declared Tuesday, February 15, 2011, a nationwide Muslim non-working holiday, under Presidential Decree No. 1083, for the upcoming Prophet's Birthday holiday.

Apart from this sectorial extension, the decree confirms the usual regional extent of the Prophet's Birthday holiday, as a non-working public holiday for both the private and public sectors in the provinces of Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Cotabato, Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat and the cities of Cotabato, Marawi, Kidapawan, Tacurong and Iligan (corresponding to the ARMM).
