Romania's president, Traian Basescu, has finally signed a law making February 20 an annual official holiday to mark the end of Roma slavery.
The aforementioned holiday will be a regular working day.
Recall that last fall (2010-09-22), the Romanian Senate had rejected legislation that would have created a new, February 20, national public holiday commemorating the emancipation of the country's Roma.
