Following this week favorable ruling by the International Tribunal for Law of the Seas (ITLOS) a senior leader of Bangladesh's ruling Awami League has called on the government of Bangladesh to declare a one-off non-working public holiday.
The aforementioned call was made by Mohammad Nasim after the ITLOS verdict which gave Bangladesh territorial and economic rights in its maritime dispute with Myanmar.
Similar public holidays have been declared in the past to celebrate a countries victory in an international court (2008-12-20 and 2008-12-18).
