Egypt's Central Bank has announced that all Egyptian banks would be closed on Sunday, October 7, 2012, which has been declared a bank holiday in Egypt on account of the upcoming, October 6, Armed Forces Day public holiday.

The declaration of a one-off bank holiday by the Central Bank of Egypt when a non-working public holiday falls on a Friday or Saturday, is common (2012-01-29, 2012-01-04, 2011-11-24, 2011-07-20 and 2011-01-05), though not systematic.
