Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has released the official list of 2013 non-working public holidays in Macedonia.
As usual (2011-11-03, 2010-10-22 and 2009-10-26), the aforementioned announcement follows the 2007 Bill on Amending the Law on State Holidays (2007-02-08), with the always possible addition of last-minute public holidays, most commonly the frequent tree planting public holidays (2012-11-15, 2011-03-28, 2010-11-17, 2010-03-28, 2009-11-12, 2008-11-18, and 2008-03-12).
In addition to the 11 general public holidays listed in the aforementioned announcement, there are sectorial holidays that may be taken by: citizens of Orthodox religion, Catholic religion, Muslim religion, the Albanian community, the Serb community, the Roma community, the Vlach community, the Jewish community, the Bosniak community, and the Turkish community.
One final comment; the date announced for the Ramazan Bajram (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday in Macedonia in 2013 seems a day early, and we expect it to be amended sometime before August 2013.
