Macedonian Public Holidays May 23 and 24

Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has announced that Thursday, May 24, 2012, would be a non-working public holiday for all citizens of Macedonia on account of the upcoming "Sts. Cyril and Methodius' Day of Slav Masters".

In addition, Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy also announced that Wednesday, May 23, 2012, would be a non-working public holiday for members of the Vlach community, on account of the upcoming National Day of the Vlachs.

The above announcement is in line with the Macedonian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy's official list of 2012 public holidays in Macedonia, as published last fall (2011-11-03), and, more generally with the Law on Holidays of the Republic of Macedonia (Official Gazette, and br.21/98 7.18) as last amended in 2007 (2007-02-08).
