Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, has announced that the government of Malaysia has no plans to reduce the number of non-working public holidays in Malaysia as part of its upcoming implementation of a minimum wage.

Malaysia's 2012 public holidays are set in the official Federal Public Holidays Schedule 2012 and State Public Holiday Schedule 2012 which were approved by Malaysia's Cabinet last summer (2011-08-01) and amended last month (2012-02-24).
