The Chief Minister of the Government of Malaysia's state of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, has announced that Monday, June 4, 2012, would be an additional non-working public holiday throughout Sarawak State.
The aforementioned announcement thus amends the State Public Holiday Schedule 2012, released last summer (2011-08-01), by adding a day in lieu public holiday to compensate the fact that the first day of the 2012 Gawak state public holidays fall on the same date as the Birthday of SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
