Peru's Ministry of Exports and Tourism (MINCETUR) has petitioned the Peruvian Presidencia del Consejo de Ministros (PCM) to systematize (institucionalización) the declaration of one-off bridge and other additional non-working public holidays.

Ever since 2006, Peru's Presidencia del Consejo de Ministros has issued an annual decree listing additional one-off non-working public holidays to stimulate internal tourism ("con el fin de fomentar el desarrollo del turismo interno y dinamizar las economías locales"), but always on an ad hoc basis (2011-12-29, 2011-03-06, 2010-02-17, 2008-12-15, 2008-02-08 and 2006-09-15).
