The South Korean government has declared Wednesday, April 11, 2012, as a one-off exceptional public holiday on account of the upcoming parliamentary election.
As was the case for the last election (2006-12-21), Government offices will be closed, and most businesses will either close, or will give 2-3 hours to their employees to go and vote.
On the previous occasion (2004-03-16), the South Korean government had declared a nationwide compulsory public holiday.
