The Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Sudan has announced that the date of the upcoming Mulid (Prophet's Birthday) would be observed as a non-working public holiday throughout Sudan from Saturday, August 18, 2012, until Tuesday, August 21, 2012, inclusively.

The dates of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramnadan) announced in the aforementioned announcement are 2 days earlier than those contained in last December's (2011-12-27) announcement of the list of official non-working national public holidays in the Republic of Sudan for the calendar year 2012.
