UAE New Year 2013 Public Holiday

The UAE's Labour Minister, Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobashi, has announced that Tuesday, January 1st, 2013, would be a nationwide non-working public holiday for the private sector of the United Arab Emirates.

As was the case last year (2011-12-26), a separate circular issued by the UAE's Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Government Human Resources Authority, Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Quttami, announced that Tuesday, January 1st, 2013, would be a non-working public holiday for the public sector of the United Arab Emirates and that work in federal bodies and the public sector in general will resume on January 2, 2013.
