The Yemeni Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance has announced that the upcoming November 30 annual non-working public holiday marking the Yemeni Independence Day, had been moved to Saturday, December 1, 2012.
The November 30 annual non-working public holiday marking the Yemeni Independence Day is in line with the Law No. 42 of 1997 specifying public holidays (1997-10-21) and the aforementioned change to December 1st seems to be due to this year's November 30 public holiday falling on a Friday.
Recall that plans to change the Yemeni weekly days of rest (weekends) would be changed from the current Thursday/Friday to Friday/Saturday (2012-01-09) were later postponed indefinitely (2012-02-01).
