Argentina's Minister of Tourism, Enrique Meyer, has announced that Friday, July 8, 2016, would be another one-off non-working public holiday in Argentina.
The aforementioned announcement, is in the spirit, but not exactly in line with the decree of 3 years ago (2010-11-03), signed by Argentina's President, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, implementing a public holidays revision which, amongst other points declared that public holidays falling on a Tuesday or Thursday would give rise to up to 2 Monday or Friday bridge public holidays per year ("Cuando las fechas de los feriados nacionales coincidan con los días martes o jueves, el PODER EJECUTIVO NACIONAL fijará DOS (2) feriados por año que deberán coincidir con los días lunes o viernes inmediato respectivo").
