Argentina's President, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, has issued Decree 1059/2013 which turns into law the recent bill to declare June 27 an annual non-working public sector holiday in Argentina.

Early last month (2013-07-05), Argentina's Congress had approved in its final reading the "Ley Nº 26.876, que declaró el día 27 de junio de cada año como el Día del Trabajador del Estado" which, beginning in 2014, makes June 27 an annual non-working public sector holiday in Argentina for the federal public sector, while encouraging other levels of government to follow suit ("Se invita a las provincias y municipios de toda la República a instaurar el 27 de junio como día de descanso en las respectivas administraciones públicas").
