The Central Bank of Bahrain has announced that it would declare a bank holiday on Wednesday, January 1st, 2014, to mark the upcoming annual public holiday for the Western New Year 2014.
Contrary to custom (2013-12-13, 2013-11-12, and 2013-11-02), the aforementioned announcement that Wednesday, January 1st, 2014, had been declared a bank holiday in Bahrain, to mark the upcoming annual public holiday for the Western New Year 2014, was not preceded by a similar announcement of a January 1st non-working public holiday in Bahrain from Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
